Hello all! After pitching my storyboards and concept things to the department tonight, I am back with some of those things.

The back story is a bonus or anyone who stumbles upon the blog, since it is not part of my animation. The baby version of my protagonist is very serious and cute though, so I wanted to put it out there somewhere.

About the name: The protagonist was abandoned on the stoop of an observatory as a baby. The confused astronomers who decide to take him in, named him β Arae, since their observatory is named after the constellation Ara, and β Arae is the brightest star in the constellation. I hope that's not too dorky or sweet.

I really would like to continue to thank everyone who helps me with this. Special thanks to my roommate Juliana for the idea of the travel poster, and all her other helpful suggestions.

I should be working on my animatic right now. It feels like I've just moved apartments and i'm staring at this huge mess of unlabeled boxes (which is pretty accurate) and trying to figure where to even start.
But yes, this is a little bit of what i'm working on.

A few things from my last post. It's incredible how stressed I am for only being two weeks in. In the middle of straightening out my thesis right now though, so expect quite a bit more on that soon. The last is a gift for my sister, who has just moved to Lousiana to start college! Congrats Em! :)
Also, thanks to Shelby and Amelia for helping me with the conceptualization of the middle pieces.

Ah also, that is an animation I did in one week, start to finish, in flash. Short 15-50 second second project based on the theme "End of the World" (although my idea fell apart somewhat under the time constraints). I suspect it was actually a test to see how students handled the pressure. As a result though, it is slightly tongue-in-cheek.
